I am the lead strength and conditioning coach at the Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin where my role is predominantly in and around late stage rehab and return to performance. I am working towards a PhD which includes resistance training in chronic low back pain and the performance determinants of change of direction. I am also strength and conditioning coach for the Kildare senior Gaelic football team. In the past I have worked with many athletes from different sports; skiing, snowboarding, field sports, tennis and triathlon.
I want to use this blog to share some of the thoughts, thought process and experiences I have and how they shape the way I coach. This is in part to get my ideas down in writing, reflect on what I do and, hopefully, stimulate some debate by challenging the above.
