Tactical strength and conditioning

Tactical strength and conditioning refers to training of military, fire, rescue and special police unit personnel. They engage in high risk operations involving high intensity bouts of physical activity requiring strength, speed, power, and agility utilising certain movement patterns specific to the role being performed. Those performing these operations are elite athletes and should train like them.

tsac Tactical strength and conditioningLike all elite athletes the tactical athlete needs to balance the improvement of operational skills and operational fitness.  By making use of the techniques being used by professional athletes nw conditioning can deliver the greatest returns in operational fitness in the time available. We will discuss the exact requirements of the role and build the program or sessions around them.

We understand the cost involved to develop today’s tactical athletes and the demands placed on them.  As such we make extensive use of performance testing to track progress and place a strong focus on injury prevention to help increase operational availability.

Our consulting covers the following areas:

  • Individual training programs – for those returning from injury, aiming to join up as a tactical athlete or wanting more more direction to your training we will design a personalised and periodised training program.
  • Injury prevention lecture and demonstration sessions – presenting the theory behind injuries, how and why they occur, and strategies to help prevent them.
  • Functional training lecture and demonstration sessions – interactive and practical lectures explaining what functional training is, the advantages it can bring to your operational conditioning and how to go about it.
